Fasteners can be seen on all kinds of machinery, equipment, vehicles, ships, railways, Bridges, buildings, structures, tools, instruments, chemicals, instruments and supplies. It is characterized by a variety of specifications, different performance and use, and the degree of standardization, serialization, generalization is also very high. Common types of fasteners are bolts, studs, screws, nuts, self-tapping screws and other products, the following is a brief introduction of these products:

1. Bolt: a type of fastener consisting of a head and a screw (a cylinder with external thread). For fastening two parts with through holes. This type of connection is called a bolted connection. If the nut is unscrewed from the bolt, the two parts can be separated, so the bolt connection is a detachable connection. One end must be screwed into the part with internal threaded hole.

2. Stud: a type of fastener with external thread at both ends but no head. When the connection. The other end goes through the part with the through hole and then screws the nut, even though the two parts are tightly connected as a whole. This type of connection is called a stud connection and is also detachable. It is mainly used in the place where one of the connected parts has a large thickness, compact structure or is not suitable for bolt connection due to frequent disassembly. They can be divided into three categories by use: machine screws, set screws and special-purpose screws. Machine screws are mainly used for a part of the screw hole.

3. Screw: it is also a kind of fastener composed of the head and screw. A fastening connection to a part with a through hole that does not require a nut fit. It can also be fitted with nuts for fastening connections between two parts with through holes. The setting screw is mainly used to fix the relative position between two parts. Special purpose screws such as ring screws for lifting parts. The shape is generally shown as a flat hexagonal column.

4. Nut: with internal threaded hole. There are also flat square cylindrical or flat cylindrical, with bolts, studs or machine screws, used for fastening the connection of two parts, so that it becomes a whole. But the thread on the screw is a special thread for self - tapping screw. For fastening two thin metal members.

5. Tapping screw: similar to machine screw. To make it into a whole, a small hole needs to be made in the member in advance. Due to the high hardness of this screw, it can be directly screwed into the hole of the member to form a responsive internal thread in the member. This type of connection is also detachable. But the thread on the screw is a special thread for wood screw.

6. Wood screws: also similar to machine screws. A wood screw produced by a cold header that can be screwed directly into a wooden member (or part) for fastening a metal (or nonmetal) part with a through hole to a wooden member. This kind of connection also belongs to the assembly connection. Increases the contact surface area of the connected parts.

7. Washer: a type of fastener in the shape of a flat ring. Between the supporting surface of a bolt, screw, or nut and the appearance of the connecting part. The function of reducing unit area pressure and maintaining the appearance of connected parts from being damaged; Another type of elastic washer can also prevent the nut from loosening. It prevents the parts on the shaft or hole from moving left or right.

Although there are many kinds of fasteners, most of them are produced with cold upsetting machine and tapping machine.
